Glenmoir Construction Ltd was established by Blair Moir in 2011. Blair is a time-served joiner, learning his craft from E W Simmers and Sons in Keith and John Florence in Huntly.
Blair has built Glenmoir from a jobbing joiner to a nationally-recognised timber frame and commercial joinery enterprise. The business now provides work for almost one hundred employees and specialist subcontractors.
'The philosophy that underpins Glenmoir's success is to never rest on our laurels. We continue to explore new markets and develop new skills. We have grown from undertaking local jobs in the North East to delivering projects across the length and breadth of Scotland.
Planning is key. However, you have to have the know-how, flexibility and capacity to overcome the inevitable challenges that arise on any contract, large or small. It is this combination of planning and agility that is valued by our clients.'
Glenmoir believes it has a responsibility to help develop a new generation of skilled craftspeople: they are Glenmoir's future. We currently have six apprentices on our four-year apprenticeship programme and this will soon rise to ten.
